Today's Sunpost quoted an official from Beck as saying a key factor in the Beck's decision to stay in Lakewood was the desire of local arts foundations to keep the Beck in Lakewood. (Read refusal to finance its relocation).
This is pure speculation but I am sure that the Mayor and others made it clear to organizations like the Cleveland Foundation that it would be wrong for them to finance Westlake's poaching expedition.
Without that quiet campaign the Beck would be gone.
