Jim--- That 97% figure is a diminished exaggeration that might have certain accuracies if placed in the proper context alongside both known and unknown variables.

This week's rumor of the week was: "300 to 500 Somalias, being brought into Lakewood to fill up rentals."
I will admit, it took the better part of the afternoon to track down. At that point I had heard it from at least 10 people, from every walk of life, and corner of the city. I have to think Observers asking people about it probably only added fuel.
This was after wasting much of the Mayor's Day by asking, "500 Somalis?" "No Jim", "499 Somalis?" "No Jim" "498 Somalis?" "No Jim" "497 Somalis?" "No Jim" "496 Somalis?" "No Jim" "495 Somalis?" "No Jim" "494 Somalis?" "No Jim" "493 Somalis?" "No Jim" "492 Somalis?"... "300 Somalis?" "No Jim"

Actually, I heard from a reliable source that the real exaggeration figure was in excess of 100%.....and after I pondered the information, I decided it needed to be adjusted to 135% before I passed it along to KW...I have now learned that even my adjustment was inadequate as a well placed source has now advised that the real figure is closer to 500%

I'm sure glad to hear that the Somali thing isn't true. It was gonna get crowded with the 100 Thais that Deneen said that you said were coming here.

That was proven wrong early on. The rumor was Thais that spoke Mai, we later learned that Mai is spoke by Somalis.
When I called the Mayor it went like this: "500 Thais?" "No Jim", "499 Thais?" "No Jim" "498 Thais?" "No Jim" "497 Thais?" "No Jim" "496 Thais?" "No Jim" "495 Thais?" "No Jim" "494 Thais?" "No Jim" "493 Thais?" "No Jim" "492 Thais?"... "300 Thais?" "No Jim"
