Reflections Arts Competition

Ivor-

I somehow missed a couple of your photo blogs, specifically the trip to the National Level of the PTA Reflections arts competition, where you placed 3rd winning 1st place in state division, and 3rd in the National division for photography.

Congratulations are most certainly in order. I can only guess that perhaps you didn't choose the proper photo for your entry, which is why you didn't get 1st in the National.

That particular blog contained a lot of stellar work, which is not unusual for you.

There was a lot of well deserved praise for Max Mueller, with whom I am also acquainted, but somehow, you weren't singled out in the same way.

Your work for the Observer has been excellent and truly appreciated.

We're lucky, we get to see your excellence at least every other week.

WOW! Congratulations, that is incredible. I did love your portfolio and I really liked the picture of the kids on the railroad track that you submitted.

Your eye for photography is amazing. I hope you plan on continuing in this field.

Reflections is a very competitive program and to place at the state level is amazing, but at the National Level is superb and to have two Lakewood students do it in the same year!!!

Too often we hear about the bad and that is what is great about the Observer it lets us share what is great about Lakewood.

Max and I are the first ever group of students from the same school to place on the National level together. There were 5 students in ohio that ended up placing in the national level I believe.. which is the most ever.

It's only fitting because Max and I have gone to school together for the past...7 years going into 8.

I submitted 2 photo's and both made it past the regional level, but they only let me keep one in the state competition where I placed first out of 22,000 students. I think over 480,000 students participated this past year in the competition... and next year's theme is going to be "my favorite place"

any ideas anyone?

I really liked the picture of the kids on the railroad track that you submitted.

my theme was "I wonder why we can't have 9 lives" because I was pressured by my teacher to turn something in for a grade, and had 5 minutes to figure out a title and I'm bad at titles or captions (ask Jim!)

There are four of me in the picture, I couldn't fit 9 of myself in it.
