The Observation Deck

So I'm in need of a new bike to get around Lakewood and for a little exercise. I'm seriously considering an iXi. Think that would do pretty well in this city?

If it were me, I would get a noncollapsible bike, unless you really need the collapsible feature. I also am not sure of the ramifications of small wheels...might be hard to ride over bigger bumps.

Whatever you do, don't get knobby mountain bike tires, if this is something you are going to be riding around town. You need something with low rolling resistance. When I switched a bike a few years ago from mountain tires to "cruising" tires, it felt like someone was giving me a push.

I agree I use a beater trek with cruising carbon fiber tires to put up with city streets and the hard edges that the roads get in their chuck holes. For the amount time I go offroad I am fine, and the ride is smooth.

I like to get into things, and before I finally picked a bike out, I was on the web for hours at a time researching..and tho I didnt get one *slaps forehead* ....it seems unanimous to use a "recumbent bike". If you google it, you'll get ALL kinds of reasons why you SHOULD get one..and now I regret NOT getting one.

Ok..you have to see THIS one, I just happened to hit on...
When I was about 13 or 14, I rebuilt my "chopper" bicycle into something similiar to this....man I wish I was smart enough to sell it ..Mine even had an AM radio in it. Body by wood and stretched fabric, painted with some paint that Wings Hobby Shop told me to use *forget what it called* ..
