Did anyone else experince problems from the "flash flooding today?

Absolutely! I had to run home in the rain after walking with the family to our doctor around the corner. Had to get the van, after all (and the doctor was kind enough to lend an umbrella, too!). Northland (s. of hilliard) was flooded all the way down during the downpour. You could see water bubbling OUT of the storm drains! It went down within an hour afterwards, thankfully. Our basement is normally pretty dry but we had a hole in it for some work being done and it came right up to the lip but thankfully started back down. Shew.

Some friends lost phone lines, oddly enough, up by Clifton and I hear a hunk of Clifton was flooded and closed. Yowza. That was some serious downpour.

Yeah, the inability to smoke on my balcony. And I'll be damned if I smoke in my apartment.

I was listening to the scanner prior to and during the sudden rainstorm. When something so fast happens the first responders have to evaluate then plan a response.
This heavy rainfall was largely disruptive, not life threatening. But, it was marvelous to listen to the interchanges between the dispatchers and the officers out on the street.
It was easy to visualize the area of intensity (primarily Clifton Blvd.) and some of the drama-man hole covers blowing four feet .
All in all, it was just another seamless shift from the normal everyday, real quick into a sudden response.
Just like water has to find a way to drain, so to does traffic have to find its way out.
The dispatchers effeciently deployed the cops to first protect, then move the traffic.
I'm going to watch the 5:oo o'clock news to put a video against the audio that I've already heard!

What a GREAT DAY to be a bike commuter! Motorists 200 deep at nonfunctioning traffic lights.

First time in a year I rode on the sidewalks. Two lanes of traffic fighting each other on 237. What a mess. Half the motorists cheering me, half cursing me. I must admit I loved every minute of it!
