SBC and the big green box

Just heard a rumor and wanted to know if it was true. SBC is switching to new equipment (which is great) but it needs to have big green boxes like refrigerators set up on each block. I guess they tried to do this in Rocky River, but they were so ugly - Rocky River did something else. My friend said they tried to "sneek it in in RR, but they didn't let them - now he thinks they are going in - in Lakewood.

Is this true or just a rumor and what do you think? Is the added benefit of the upgraded equipment worth the eyesore or can they do something to make it less of an eyesore?

I'd go for a green box verey block or so, if it meant that we'd lose some of the overhead wires!

OK, would you go for a green refrigerator on your tree lawn, even if it meant the wires stay above ground?

I'm still rather fond of the fake wood grain of two decades past.

It could be making a come back, style wise that is.

1) IF I could lose wires, for the good of the neighborhood, yes. It would create some interesting landscaping design projects. BUT

2) I understand this to be a nonissue for ME, as my area green refrig will be on YOUR tree lawn.
