To everyone that showed up today for the annual but highly illegal railroad track clean-up, Thank you.
We had a group that numbered about 20 for the second year. About 35 bags of trash were picked up, and a good time was had by all.
The group was comprised of members from the FreeTimes, The Library, H20, PTA, The Lakewood Observer, and Phoenix Coffee.
This was started when some residents called the railroad to clean up the track, and they stated they would prefer to keep it unsafe as it stops people from walking on the property. When the city was called, they said they could not do it as it was private property.
At that time Michael Gill and Bob Bond, two of Lakewood's finest residents took it upon themselves to break the law and clean up the area.I was happy to join them last year, and this year was even more fun.
Thanks again to everyone.
