Observers,

Yesterday at 3:00, as Mayor, I signed the legal documents to allow for the first resident of Rockport Square to move into their condominium this weekend.

Sales price: $414,000.

Over 130 units more to come.

Accomplished without a single resident complaint at a Council meeting.

Proof, it CAN be done in Lakewood.

Fine work by our Planning Dept., Law Dept., Building Dept., Council and many, many others, but special thanks to Council President Bob Seelie whose leadership has been invaluable.

Our friends, long term Lakewoodites, are excited to be moving into a Rockport Square home rather than moving out of Lakewood. We are hoping, after they settle in, for a tour.

We've been enjoying watching the progress on this and other projects, as Lakewood rebuilds itself.

We certainly hope they enjoy their new home. We know that some of their new neighbors are looking forward to having them there.

I've been watching the Rockport project for some time, but today we stopped to see the model and take a tour. WOW!! I was under the impression when they said loft, that they were unfinished spaces and you had to finish them, like lofts elsewhere. That isn't true here, while you have some say these come finished and they are spectacular.

Rysar is doing a nice job in the area putting up some great homes. Everyone should stop and see and spread the word.

And they are committed to doing it all without Eminent Domain. They are buying up other properties in the area, when people want to sell. They are redoing the whole neighborhood it seems.

We were all very impressed. Plus the Firehouse in which the model office is located is worth the trip.

If you want to see what the Rockport Square Showroom looks like...the old Firehouse...just click on the photo gallery section of the opening page of this web site.....and look for the title...Rockport Square Showroom...it's way at the bottom...... and you can see what it looks like.

I will try to see the model this week to get some photos. Thanks for the heads up..I didn't know the models were open yet.
