CCF's Brian Donley Paid Well by LHA as "Chief of Looting"

Brian G. Donley's title is the "Chief of Staff for CCF", but we now know that a portion of his salary is paid by LHA.

Back in April, when I asked Donley directly about this, Donley said he did not think part of his salary was allocated to Lakewood. He looked at the ceiling of the Lakewood Courtroom and then away while he said it. CCF Attorney Michael Meehan flatly denied it, but he did not look me in the eyes when he said it either.

A document just released by Kevin Butler two days ago shows that in 2013 the amount allocated to LHA for the former Chief of Staff was $344,000 for just that year.

So a healthy chunk of Donley's multi-million dollar salary is paid by Lakewood.

Donley's title should be "Chief of Looting" at Lakewood Hospital, because LHA is paying him well to loot.

That amount of Donley's personal booty is nearly 3 times what Butler is being paid to bless the looting.

What enrages me even more than the money that he gets paid is the outright deceit that he exhibits. He knows full well where his money comes from and to deliberately LIE and evade direct questions really calls into question everything he says.

Why are people so willing to believe liars?

Isn't it great that one of the members from the LHA is running for Ward 3 Council? John Litten. By the way, the last I heard, he will not give up his seat on the LHA if elected to serve the citizens as their councilman. It just goes on and on!

Maybe I missed it in all the posts about the hospital, but do LHA members receive any kind of compensation?

All these lying corporate insiders make me sick!

So the LHA paid this a$$ to loot our hospital to make it seem that it's not viable? What a deal! Boy, these guys deserve a monopoly in Lakewood for sure. Oh, just think of all the lies to come down the road.

Hmmm . . . $344,000 x 1.5% Lakewood income tax rate for working in Lakewood, = $5,160.
Jen, send him a bill! Don't forget the penalty and interest!

Yes--based on the way the question is phrased.

The only member of LHA is CCF--It received about $24miilion in related party compensation last year.

As for members i.e. trustees of the LHA Board, they are supposed to be unpaid volunteers, but many have business relationships with CCF, CCF affiliates or entities that do business with or are dependent upon CCF whereby they directly or indirectly benefit.

So when certain LHA Trustees spoke at forums earlier this year and proclaimed "None of us have anything to gain from this...we are only acting in the best interests of Lakewood."

Those claims just are not true.

FYI Brian Donley is not a trustee of LHA.

Looking at the CCF 990 form (2013), in section VII there are listed a number of individuals, for example,

BULLOCKTHOMAS 3 00

TRUSTEE - LAKEWOOD

I was surprised that what appears to be LHA trustees appearing in the CCF 990 form. I have no knowledge of 990 "Return of Organization Exempt From Income Tax" and just wondering if it's normal accepted practice.

Richard,

What year 990 are you looking at?

I see the 2013 CCF 990 (below) with Cosgrove's compensation at over $ 4,000,000 (page 7) and Joseph Hahn Chief of staff at $1,233,144 (also page 7). 344,000/1,233,144 means that 28% of his salary was charged to LHA--that assumes that Subsidium's "Data Book" was accurate--and the 990's are truthful----Subsidium was pretty sloppy in several areas. Note on page 9 the Institute Heads' and other salaries are in the millions too.

Donley became Chief of Staff & Looting after 2013.

But I don't see Bullock on there.

This is the one I scanned through--can you post what you're looking at or tell me what page you see Bullock on?

Brian,

http://foundationcenter.org/findfunders/990finder/

Searched for Cleveland Clinic Foundation 2013 and got this - http://990s.foundationcenter.org/990_pd ... 1442614973

Through The Foundation Center I saw the "Group Return" 990 that lists all the subordinates.

Brian et al..

Pages 15, 16, & 18 do show Bullock, Madigan & Summers as Trustees of CCF from Lakewood - with 3 hrs a week, no pay.

The 990 form requires CCF to list all of their trustees. The "3 00" is the number of hours Bullock volunteers per week for the CCF. He doesn't receive any compensation for his three hours per week.

I was more intrigued by the concept that on a CCF 990, LHA trustees were listed and the relationship between CCF and LHA with LHA being the subordinate organization.

Does this relationship impact, or influence, the ability of the subordinate body to oversee the actions and deliberations of the parent organization?
