You Heard It, You Know It! Nothing Like A Steam Whistle

Around 8pm tonight a steam engine was headed through Lakewood, Ohio. Linda Turk and her neighbor Maureen Wentz went down to the tracks and this is what they sent it for all of us to enjoy!
"We were alerted to this former Lakewoodite now in Boston, Keith McCowan, whose Lakewood brother Dan is a railroad buff with inside knowledge. He states " The engineer today is Doyle McCormick, a retired real engineer, a family friend since the 1960's." said Linda Turk.

I could hear it all the way down by Hayes Elementary. At first I wondered if I was imagining it.

Does anyone know the backstory? Where did it come from, where was it going? Who does it belong to?

FYI I only know this because I am from Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Nickel Plate #765 will be operating on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad weekends of September 19-20, 26-27, and October 3-4.

The engine is Nickel Plate Road #765, a 2-8-4 Berkshire steam locomotive that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The 2-8-4 designation of a Berkshire-type locomotive indicates it has 2 pony or leading wheels, 8 large driving wheels, and 4 trailing wheels. It's 15 feet tall and capable of speeds over 60 mph.

Built in 1944 and weighs over (correction) 400 tons. About 80 0f them were built.
