The Jim O'Bryan article is yellow journalism in its design, manipulative in its ambition and disingenuous at its core. It is time to refute the author's toxicity to our rational community. It is important that our community push back on this bully. Share if you care.
Much has been written about bullies---when they are called out and exposed, they turn into victims. That's because almost all bullies are really coward's at heart.
It appears that a couple of guys with reputations as bullies are now crying foul, i.e. playing victims because they have been called out.
Cowards try to shoot the messenger by hiding in the shadows and avoid the facts.
BTW what is "our rational community"?
I would love to see every Jay and every LHF trustee write 100 rational words to explain why they voted for the LOI and what their plan is to replace the hospital?
Yellow anyone?

Good job Brian and Jim!!! You are both inspirational. It is a shame that we are in a position to have to battle with others because of the way certain elected officials have handled the Lakewood Hospital issue.
Just a few quotes..around the topic of liars, bullies and standing up for what is right.
“The liar's punishment is, not in the least that he is not believed, but that he cannot believe anyone else.”
― George Bernard Shaw, The Quintessence of Ibsenism
“When people tell a lie about something, they have to make up a bunch of lies to go with the first one. ‘Mythomania’ is the word for it.”
― Haruki Murakami, Norwegian Wood
“Courage is fire, and bullying is smoke.” – Benjamin Disraeli
“If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse, and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality.”
― Desmond Tutu

Great and relevant quotes.
It is truly sad that the people who are charged with protecting us are protecting themselves and the people they are supposed to be protecting us from.
So when well intentioned folks get uncomfortable with the harshness of those of us trying to expose the core problems and bad actors, I say that is an unfortunate but necessary part of the process.

This sounds like the same observation made by some posters on the Lakewood Observer Observation Deck.

There is a huge difference between someone using fake names to attack, and adults
kicking it back and forth.
While there are tough posts, I know of no legal actions that have come from posts. I know
of no one that ever felt threatened?
Corey, again we have talked of this many times, you know the truth.
Compare the conversation here with anywhere else. This is mild, and nicer than anywhere.
It is also backed up with legal responsibility.
Talk is cheap, especially in this town.

I was not referring to what I am guessing you are referring to (anyone want to borrow my decoder ring?). More specifically, the part about "reputations for bullies are now crying foul" sounded like the theme of some of your latest posts...
