Smoother Railroad Crossings Ahead?

I have often wondered who was in charge of overseeing that railroad crossings are kept in acceptable condition. As many of us can attest to, several of the railroad crossings in Lakewood are quite rough, especially Bunts and Marlowe.

Through researching the Ohio Administrative and Revised Codes, I found that Ohio's Public Utilities Commission (PUCO) enforces state laws regarding the maintenance and repair of railroads and their crossings.

Back in June, I wrote the PUCO concerning the repair of the crossings in Lakewood at Bunts, Manor Park, Marlowe, and Thoreau. The PUCO determined that these crossings were in fair to poor condition. According to the PUCO, the railroad plans to fix the Manor Park crossing by the end of October and the rest of the crossings no later than next year.

I just thought that any of us that drive over these crossings would like to know that relief is (hopefully) on the way.
