Clear the air, Westerly Policy, Residents

Post by Marguerite Harkness »

Curt Brosky, who runs The Westerly, has assured me that residents who support Save Lakewood Hospital in any way, need have no concerns about possible retaliation or eviction. (We have heard of such fears being expressed by residents there.)
He clarified their policies for me. Nonsolicitation policy, you can't go door-to-door requesting, say, signatures. Residents are free to ask their friends to, say, sign petitions or support Save Lakewood Hospital (or other political issue). Political signs are not allowed on the Westerly lawn, or in residents' windows where they would be visible from the street.
Organizations are allowed to rent a small-to-medium room (nominal charge), provide refreshments, and invite residents to attend a meeting. Management will post the flyer inviting residents to the meeting. He gave me the contact info for the person in charge of activities.
We will go forward assuming that this information is true; and if we discover otherwise, we will promptly disclose such issues.
