In Monica Robbins WKYC TV3 interview with Tom Monahan and Mayor Mike Summers, Summers said, “If they don’t like the proposal that’s before city council, come up with another one…”

See the story here:

I challenge Mayor Summers to come on the Observation Deck and discuss alternatives to tearing down Lakewood Hospital. You’ve posted on the Observation Deck before.

Mayor Summers, I’ve have known you since grade school and Boy Scouts. Before this Lakewood Hospital issue, you were an excellent communicator. What happened?

We don’t want to hear from your crisis communication firm.

We don’t want to hear from your inner circle of friends who post on the Deck.

We don’t want to hear from your city hall staff.

We don't want to attend another "City controlled" forum on Lakewood Hospital.

We don't want one way communication from your staff, CCF, LHA, or LHF.

We want to hear from you, Mayor Summers, right here on the Observation Deck!

What are you afraid of?

I will second that call, Bill. Mayor Summers could talk to Lakewood residents right now and every day, not just one Tuesday each month. We have so many questions. If you have the answers, we would love to hear them!

Look, if you have an idea and you are confident that its good, you'd take the time to answer questions so that you could convince others how great it is right?

So why isn't the mayor or the LHA or whoever willing to provide answers and DETAILS about this proposal? How can you be FOR something you know NOTHING about?

That amazes me - people who blindly follow a leader with absolutely knowledge of what they are supporting other than some fuzzy feeling of unity.

Did I hear that "Save Lakewood Hospital" is putting a referendum on the ballot?

Mr. Mayor,
The more you keep quiet, staying out of sight on this issue, the more rumor and speculation will fly.
The more you keep quiet, people will draw their own conclusions without both sides of the issue represented.
The more you keep quiet, the more people will dig and dig to find out what you are hiding.
The more you keep quiet, people will misplace their anger on the Clinic, not realizing this is your idea.
The more you keep quiet, the more we will be kept in the dark.

Please, Mr. Mayor, step into the light and enlighten us as to why you think this is such a great idea.
