people that disagree with us, are mean.
No study cited, no facts to base it up, just more opinions.
I say bring it here, and let's kick their facts around in an
unbiased REAL place, the Deck.
No, they run from the light of day.
Why?
Fact - "Lakewood Hospital Hemorrhaging cash"
More of a statement...
A FACT would be - "Lakewood Hospital Hemorrhaging cash because of terrible management
by the LHA and extremely poor stewardship from our council members."
OPINION - How can you trust people that drive a healthy hospital into a ditch on purpose?

One major clarification on the "hemorrhaging cash" line:
According to Ken Haber at a June meeting of the Council of the Whole, the hospital had a $1.4 million profit in 2014.

Where is a link to that? I have people who have been told by their "friends" that the hospital has been losing money for years. A link to that would certainly set them straight. Thanks!

Lakewood Hospital is hemorrhaging cash, to the tune of over $24 MILLION per year, TO the Cleveland Clinic, for vague and undescribed "Administrative Services". (Mayor Summers said Clinic was "not being very transparent" about these expenses.)
This includes Executive Team (Toby's salary, Donley's salary), Regional Administration (Avon/Twinsburg?), Consulting (Subsidium?), Legal (our lawsuit?). According to the 2014 EY Cleveland Clinic audit, NO OTHER HOSPITAL IN THE CLINIC SYSTEM IS BEING CHARGED THIS KIND OF EXPENSE. (Accountants: look for the last footnote describing the Elimination Entries, which are almost all Lakewood.)
Since 2008, Cleveland Clinic has sucked over $140 million out of Lakewood - to build - guess what? AVON.
Lakewood Hospital is Cleveland Clinic's CASH COW.

It was a verbal statement made in a room full of people.
