The longer this drags on, the more it seems Mr. Mayor has painted Lakewood into a corner. (thank you very much!) What a shame, he blew it big time, referring to the Metro proposal that wasn't taken seriously. I hate to sound defeatist, but man, our options are dwindling!
Fulfill the lease!

Options are not dwindling. We have a lease, all we need do is enforce it.
Actually if the Clinic pulled out, and the place was vacant we would be about $75 million
ahead of where we are now with prime acreage in downtown Lakewood.
The only way this deal truly kills Lakewood is if we take it, then build the rec center mixed
use green space.
No matter it was Ed FitzGerald working in partnership with Councilman Summers, Madigan
and that other councilman no longer on council in private life that guided this top tier
well established and solid city to the edge of uncertainty and desperation.
Matter of fact, they do not get re-elected the problem largely resets, so that a true honest
decision is made, by people that at least understand what they are doing.
They have been using water bills for selective "campaigning" since Ed FitzGerald.
Let's be honest half of council and our mayor was hand picked by the great leader
we called ED.
