Hey might as well call it, "Lakewood Early Childhood PTA' Truckstock" not "Meet The Trucks."
Families streaming in before the start from all over the city creating a constant line to trucks!

Five minutes before official start time...

... five minutes later!

For me it is always great seeing the families trying to get the perfect photo of the kids
to send off to grandparents, post for facebook, etc.

This is the secret to the event, great photos and fun memeories of the City of Lakewood,
the Police, Fire, Services that willl be remembered and shared forever! Here the Rodems
of Lakewood, work for that perfect photo.

Young kids especially the boys flock to the SWAT and Police...

... meanwhile it seems the girls prefer the Firemen.

The Tougouma kids pose for mom, while their uncle helps out.

Star of the show, the shovel, or Steam Shovel if you ever read "Mike Mulligan Steam Shovel."

Best handouts, Lakewood Recreation Department!

Second best, Lakewood Methodist Church

But the one hour mark!

Kids, families, people all over the place having a blast!

Lakewood Early Childhood PTA, you do so many amazing things for the families of Lakewood but this one is my favorite!

You rock!

It was really ramped up this year.
I don't remember there being infatables at previous versions.

It was so crowded that I had to park on Lake.

Well done by everyone involved!

This was the first year I can ever remember it advertised on radio.

99.1 FM played commercials for it all week. Looks like it helped with the attendance! Great job by all involved!

Yesterday, my son and I attended Meet The Trucks. I agree that the turnout was great. It was nice to be able to run into old friends from school days and talk with many friendly folks not only from Ward 3, but also from around thew entire city. I also had the pleasure (strictly by chance) of meeting my neighborhood police officer from Ward 3, Officer Wintrick. We had a great discussion about policing issues in Lakewood, and also learned that our department stays on top of receiving new training as it becomes available. We also met Olivia, who is one of our safety dispatchers. She informed me that in Lakewood, the dispatcher that answers the phone also has to dispatch the call. In some cities, there is a call-taker and a dispatcher. Hats off to these workers as they have to pull double-duty. I haven't attended this since my son was little, but I enjoyed meeting the people and eating Marco's Pizza!
