So with the letter of intent expired what happens now? Has city all extended this because it was set to expire may 31st? with the lawsuit, what can we expect? the process of closing the hospital, and essentially transferring employees else where is on hold correct?

I have heard, but only tangentially, that a 60-day extension was granted. (I don't know if City requested, or Clinic requested, this.) Looks like Council keeps going with its analysis and determination of the situation - until July 31. (Council goes into recess in August.)

Council has hired a health care consultant out of Chicago, to help them understand the "lay of the land" for health care. I understand their attorneys, Thompson Hine & Flory, are looking at the same questions that were brought up in the lawsuit (breach of contract, conflicts of interest, fraud, conspiracy).

I have heard that the judge meets with the attorneys, to start the process and determine the schedule for the lawsuit to proceed. There's a lot of work to be done, a lot of documents to be obtained (from a number of different parties), analysis of those documents to determine what additional information can be gleaned, etc.

An important part of the lawsuit, is to keep the hospital whole. I'll make a new post, requesting public to advise us if they hear of plans to remove services or equipment.

I've been told that the Clinic is pushing forward with plans to transfer personnel from Lakewood to Fairview and other facilities. It would seem that the Judge might put a stop to that. Things are somewhat up in the air and the 800 pound gorilla is scratching its head figuring out what it wants to do.
