And Now For Something Completely Different And Fun

Well maybe not different if you watched any of the videos last year, but different than talking
about how this administration has screwed something else up.

BABY EAGLES 2

It reminds me of when I sat down with the Mayor and offered to pay for and build a starter
Eagle Nest in a proper tree where hundreds could watch. "That is not a very good idea," I
was told and assured it would never happen. Now as I watch hundreds of families come and
go from Redwood Elementary School to see the eagles of Avon Lake, I think how can a
City get so many things wrong in such a short time.

Enjoy

Great footage.
Where exactly was it taken? I will look for the nest on my next Canyon walk.

Also, did you have a particular location in mind for the starter eagle nest?
Was there a specific reason given why it would be a bad idea?

Mike

The easiest place to get to to see the Emerald Canyon Bald Eagles is along the river at
South Mastick Park. They love to work the river all day long. They also work the rapids
at the back of the City Water Treatment Plant.

There are three sycamores back there along the river where they sit. I thought the one
would be perfect for a starter nest. It could be grabbed by anything from a goose to a
Bald Eagle, and many birds share nests. The Great Horned Owl Nest is used a month later
by geese. The cost to city was ZERO. They should also put a platform on the lighthouse
as Ospreys are on the rise along the great lakes.

I have seen at least 5 GREAT ideas turned down because they were not in the in crowd.

How about the plan to get some rock legends and people from the Rock Hall to build on
the Eastside of Lakewood? No less than John Gorman, from WMMS was in the mayor's
office pushing the idea. City hall suddenly gut "too busy."

But why cry over the very real, very great deals the city simply blew off.

So sad, so many missed opportunities for 5 Guy Corporate Offices errr one of many
regional offices. The Best Taco Bell in the world, 5 Dollar stores, lost hospital...
