If you lived near Bohlken Park in Fairview Park yesterday you probably were amazed at
how many fire trucks and firemen kept coming to put out the same trailer on fire all day.

Image
If you were a Lakewood resident and saw fire trucks rushing out of the city, or for that
matter a resident of Rocky River you might have been alarmed.

Image
But then if you watched you realized it was a controlled situation.

Image
FireBlast was in town to handle training for fire departments from Lakewood, Rocky River,
and Fairview Park. Retraining vets, and getting the various companies working together.

Image
The various teams would work together to first spray water into the right spot, to make
flames subside, allowing other team members to go through the door, or climb onto the
roof of the vehicle,

Image
By aiming for the ceiling you get better disbursement, and it cools down the room and
the floor above.

Image
Rooms and floors can easily reach 1,800 degrees or more, so it is vital to cool the room down.

Image
The team, this one from Lakewood would then set the ladder race up it, and start a chain saw they carried up.

Image
Take a short break, and...

Image
Those are real flames!

Lakewood waits their turn.
