Mayor Summers was back at the ground breaking for the new schools which only seems
right as he was on the Lakewood School Board.

OK we all know the routine so let's go through it and check everything off.

Couldn't help notice the basketball backboard sans hoop. The words: "credible threat to public saftey" continues to ring in my ears.

Peter, those hoops came down forever ago. I think if the folks (adult men about 18-30) using the hoops hadn't been so prone to shouting obscenities into the late evening and blasting music out of their car windows while they played, the hoops would never have come down. That parking lot was usually full of kids riding bikes and flying kites etc and the bballers kind of ran them out.

Also, no, it wasn't me who complained. But that went on for a couple months and then suddenly there were no hoops anymore.
