Single Biggest Misconception In Hospital Deal

This is the Cleveland Clinic screwing us over.

Let's look at the facts.

Contract signed in good faith by both parties.

Contract opened 7 times by the City, never by the Clinic.

2010 change allowed them to move things out. Ed FitzGerald opened it this time.

THE LETTER OF INTENT WAS NOT AN ULTIMATUM!

The LOI was a response from the Cleveland Clinic when the City of Lakewood sent out an RFP
to various vendors. This was the Clinic's offer to Mayor Summer's and Madigan's RFP. This
was not the Clinic saying take it or leave it, we are gone.

When the Clinic gave the City an extension until June of the LOI. I mentioned to a friend
at the Clinic "Thanks for the extension, it is going to take the City months to sort through
this BS." His answer was, "We have a contract until 2026 already."

In this game of lies and spin, the only "misstruth" coming from the Clinic was Lakewood
Hospital was losing money. I pointed out to them this was not true, and they have not
said it again.

Meanwhile City Hall doubles down on their lies and misstruths as they hurry to push this
through before the elections.

Same cast of players, same lying misleading win at all costs, same ill thought out plans,
same screw the city, this is what WE want.

Jim,

Who and/or what prompted the city to open the contract 7 times?

Do you believe the clinic has done a good job at managing the hospital?
