Active Living WRECK CENTER

The moment the Active Living Task Force announce their WRECK CENTER, it will cost on
average each home owner, $9,482 each.

That is the Community owned Hospital Asset being lost valued at $178 million dollars, and
the $20 million Jenn Pae has indicated the City pays into this property, divided by 21,000
front doors in Lakewood. (Unlike City Hall we actually try to explain numbers we throw out)

So we go directly from "A great deal for Lakewood" losing $198 million. Right into spending
tens of millions on three fields for soccer and a "do-not-call-it-a-rec-center" center.
AKA the WRECK CENTER, as it wrecked our economy, our largest employer and raised taxes.

And we have yet to lay the first brick, or blade of grass. Then there could be as much as
another $200-$300 a year in taxes needed to build and run it. Then the monthly fee to go.
Normally in the $50 a month range.

Of course Lakewood Soccer would finally get the Soccer fields for free. I mean the fields
that could be used for various things and soccer. Saving Lakewood Soccer $23,000 a year
in field charges that went to the Rec Department to help maintain the fields for all that
were willing to open their books for the Rec Department to make sure they are really non-profit.

You think we got screwed on the Hospital Deal! You have seen nothing yet.

And these bastards are pushing ahead full speed with no deal on the table, pushing,
pushing, pushing, until we cannot afford to do anything else. Houses coming down, Mayor,
Council President lying, their close friends and allies spilling the beans on the plans to their
friends that talk to their friends.

City Hall, you might think you are operating in the shadows. The Emperor New Clothes!

Senator Skindell saw City Hall naked and cried foul. All of the other elected officials with
any credibility have stayed away, so they do not get dragged down in the slime.

FWIW

Skindell is the only elected official asking questions, seeking answers and working for a sensible outcome. He is the only one.

Various institutions that depend on the City or County or the "non profit" institutions have been told to get on board or be left on the dock. They want a piece of the action even if it's just a small one.

I wouldn't mind being lied to or misled or deceived for something great but for a Wreck Center?

It's like the old line in Casablanca:

Ugarte: Rick, think of all the poor devils who can't meet Renault's price. I get it for them for half. Is that so ... parasitic?

Rick Blaine: I don't mind a parasite. I object to a cut-rate one.
