I realize that "Association" doesn't work in your headline to the hospital web page,
but we have no control over the Foundation. It is the Association that screwed the pooch.
Not that facts matter.
Carry on.

The fact of the matter is that the Foundation was collecting donations for "Lakewood Hospital" long after they knew Lakewood Hospital was to be torn down and not replaced.
The fact of the matter is that one of the drivers in the decision to destroy the Hospital was the desire of third parties to get their hands on the assets of the Foundation.
The fact of the matter is that the Foundation is in the midst of repurposing itself from a financial supporter of Lakewood Hospital to a Foundation to serve the wellness needs of Lakewood and surrounding areas (Avon? Lorain County?).
The fact of the matter is that Lakewood Hospital and the people of Lakewood were not only betrayed by the Mayor and the Hospital Association but by the Foundation as well.
The fact of the matter is that Foundations are not just charitable institutions but political institutions as well.
If I start a Foundation to raise money to pay for the cancer treatments of Mrs. Jones and I continue to collect funds to treat Mrs. Jones cancer long after she is dead and her bills are all paid am I committing a charitable act when I ask for money to save Mrs. Jones or am I committing fraud?
Follow the money.
Facts do matter. Carry on.
