Qualities/Qualifications you want in a mayor/councilmember

Lakewood will be holding elections for Mayor and 4 ward positions this November. What qualities/qualification would you like to see in a leader?

I'll start with a few.

1. Valid drivers license
2. Clean driving record (No DUI)
3. No ulterior motives (Not a member of the hospital board)
4. Lived in Lakewood for at least 5 years
5. Has vision
6. Can delegate
7. Is open to working with those that hold different views
8. Can find common ground, doesn't always have to be right

9. No seasonal last names.

10. Believes in more outdoor basketball hoops.
11. Asks the right questions BEFORE a project starts rather than reacting AFTER

12. Doesn't declare anyone to be a "credible concern for public safety near the park" and then just close the park area near the alleged "credible concern for public safety near the park."
13. Doesn't practice psychology without a license.

14. Can drive Lakewood roads/streets without the need for "traffic calming."
