One of the unique features of Lakewood is the lake and its effect on the local weather.
When I lived on the lake it it never felt cold until the lake froze, and kept north Lakewood
chilly until mid-June. Often temperature differences of 10-20 degrees in the spring.

The ice off the coast makes the coast cold, which makes lake effects snows worse,
until the entire lake freezes, which takes the moisture away.

The ice continues to close up, on the right you can see the reflection of Key Ban in the thin layer of ice.

There was very little visible change in the lakefront yesterday so for today's, brrrrrrrrrrrr
winter comes to Lakewood photo we go down to the Clifton Lagoons that have frozen over
much like Rocky River at the mouth of the canyon.

Frozen past the crib! In just days it has closed up and frozen over.

When it gets this cold, like the play Brigadoon, the waste water treatment factory looks magical!

Stay warm, keep sidewalks clear, and get out and enjoy Lakewood in winter!

After a night of fog and frosty weather, the trees around the water treatment plant sparkle with ice.
