Parma Theater probably coming down

During the Detroit Theater debate, I think JOB brought the fire-stricken Parma into the discussion. Growing up in Parma, this was my equivalent to the Detroit. Also sad to see it go, but nobody there wants to ante up either. Perhaps Rite Aid simply can't wait to erect it's 15th Parma location?

Parma Theater was the sister theater to the Detroit, same owners.

After that mention, there was a fire which was arson, but one of the tenants in the building,
not the owner. "Friends of Parma Theater" an organization the Parma Observer was behind
has been trying to use it for arts, and live entertainment. The fire really set that back and
made it even tougher to use, or figure what to do with it.

In the end, "Friends of Parma Theater" is trying to stop the sale, but...

"Friends Of Parma Theater" have gotten a stay of execution on the demolishing of the site.
Asbestos removal is continuing. FOPT have an agreement with the city if an agreement
can be formed with Norman Barr, who also owned the Parma Theater.

By 2pm today, FOPT are expecting a contract of the agreement. The City is eager to work
with the group to save the theater.
