Many of us were saddened to hear of the passing on Oct. 9 of Don Sharp, Jr. Don was a devoted Lakewoodite and good friend. Of late, he served as president of the Community Recreation and Education Commission.
Don was a great supporter of our town and the Lakewood’s Recreation Department and served on various commissions. He always put kids first and was instrumental in organizing the summer adult softball tournament, which generates funds to provide scholarships for children who may not otherwise be able to participate in Recreation activities due to financial needs.
Services were held this past weekend. Memorial contributions can be made to the Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland, 3601 South Green Road, Independence, 44122.
He will be missed. Condolences to Joanne and the family.
