Many in the district were saddened to hear of the passing on Oct. 9 of Don Sharp, Jr., who was president of the Community Recreation and Education Commission.
Mr. Sharp was a constant supporter of our community and Lakewood’s Recreation Department, serving on various commissions. Always one to put young people first, Mr. Sharp was instrumental in organizing the summer adult softball tournament, which generated funds to provide scholarships for those children who may not have the benefit of participating in Recreation activities due to financial needs.
Although services were held this past weekend, those who wish can make memorial contributions to the Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland, 3601 South Green Road, Independence, 44122.
