New Lion and Blue Open! Ohhhhhhhhhhh

Yesterday I got a call from Tina Dolatowski owner of Lion and Blue, one of my favorite gift
shops in Lakewood. She owns it with her husband Mike and together with unique high quality
jewelry from Mike, and Tina's flare for fun they have carved out a nice niche and are an
important part of Downtown Lakewood, and real Lakewoodness. Anyway Tina called and
said "Stop by I have that shirt you wanted for your wife, and you have to see the new store!"
I was excited, you want to see really good things happen to really good people, the Dolatowskis
deserve to hit the lottery so I headed off.
I just love the color natural feel, it is so perfect.
Yet they were incorporating some of the old feel to. This is the newest thing hitting Downtown
Lakewood, Renovation turning into Restoration. "LOVE IT"
So I go in the new door....
OMG! Nailed it! That urban, rough, neglected, rebuilding, artsy, Home Depot walls with no
walls,machinery, industrial framed in but open green kind of feel we all desperately love.
Wow!
Going through onto the other side, it has that great look we have come to love about Lion and Blue, where the walls jump to life with vibrant colors.
There was Tina, unpacking another box on items coming in. "Jim it has been crazy here!
we are moving and getting new merchandise so fast the summer has been a blur. Michael
is backed up with jewelry orders so we have slowed a bit on the new spot, but continue
to make progress. That shirt you wanted is right over here." Then she looked around, "no
maybe here, how about this?" I answer she wears a small. Then some mentions they were
already bought!" That is how fast things are moving.
"Let me know what you want, I can order anything" she said as I was leaving.
and pointed out that the sign did say "while expanding."
That there is new cool stuff arriving daily right up and through the holidays!!!
Can't wait till to see the real new place, when it is done.
