With many changes in the last couple months, including a change of date to make room for
the Gay Games Bike Races (see separate story), the show got off on Saturday night with
a pre-party at the Phantasy Theater, and help from NTB.

Great night, great band, damn good venue...

Image
Jane Rose and the Deadend Boys and DJ Junior both house rockin stars from Nashville got the
party dancing with some first classic Rock-a-billy and tunes. I can see this becoming a two
day event, as the party was great fun.

You might want to start this video of Jane Rose and the Deadend Boys as you check out
these photos, they are bug fun!

At 10:30 you can still see some of the morning rain on the ground. Many times with rain the
cars stay in. Not for this show, the lines were long, and the cars were coming.

The 1960 Cadillac...

They gave this Cadillac to their father the day of the Car Show to help celebrate their father's
retirement. His whole life he had wanted a big black Cadillac and the boys thought it would be
a fitting present for their father. Chris works as a Car Designer at GM in Detroit, so he put out
the feelers and located the car. The boys picked it up and got it ready. Dad gets it, drives to the
show and wins, Kar Kulture Choice! Great story.

Earlier in the day. Jerry was looking all over for Mayor Summers to get the "Mayor's Choice," well
Mayor Summers takes old cars pretty seriously, being a collector himself. I said, I hadn't seen him
when minutes later he was walking by making notes. I mentioned Jerry was looking for him and he
said, "I have my pick, the Packard! Did you see it! Beautiful!" I mentioned I had and he said, "I
have to go and look at a couple other cars to make sure, but that Packard is nice."

Jerry texts me, "Have you found the mayor?" I text him back, "Yes he has his choice." Minutes later
the owner, Joe Wahr, Jerry Koenigsmark, and Mayor Summers talked by the car. The Mayor's
enthusiasm is real and legit. It was nice seeing Mike and Wendy having so much fun walking
around, listening to music, checking out old cars, talking with people and enjoying a perfect
Sunday in Lakewood Ohio.

To the City of Lakewood, Great work this weekend!
