Nothing better than summer in Lakewood. OK well maybe a couple things, but not many. Walkable cities come to life with the weather we have had this summer. Those on the right would say this summer proves “global warming” does not exist. Those on the left would say, 3” of rain in 20 minutes as the new norm would indicate “global climate change” is very real, and needs to be addressed. Which plays perfectly into the next best part of Lakewood, our front porches, since the days of Dr. Jared Potter Kirtland entertaining John James Audubon, and other dignitaries on his porch back in Rockport. Yes, walking and talking, socializing is what Lakewood is all about.
This summer take a break and enjoy Lakewood, as it was meant to be enjoyed, walking street to street in the community of Lakewood, talking to neighbors, and people on other streets, you will be amazed at the great people you will find all over. Sit and talk, practice the very concept the Lakewood Observer was built on, Observations, and the Conversation about those Observations, and besides learning more about the person, the neighborhood, the city we all love, you might just learn something about yourself. Walking, talking, thinking, the Lakewood way.
