Tina At Shore Restaurant Asks For Your Help

No not coming in for food. The place has been packed the last couple weeks, though I
am sure more customers are always appreciated.
As you can see, one booth open, and the tables filled with well known Lakewoodites.
I am sure we all remember when the facade fell off one of the nicest old buildings in Lakewood.
Angelo and Tina had been looking for ways to rebuild the wall at the time, but terracotta is
not as easy to find now as in the past.
The rubble was on the walk overnight while they tried to think of what to do. Well while some
were given the OK to take a piece, others grabbed some.
Well now Tina needs to know which piece you might have. They are not interested in anything
but rebuilding the building to its former glory. I was talking with her this week and she asked
for the piece I had back. I told her it had been turned into a birdbath in my yard.
She said no, I need the pieces we are taking an inventory and are still missing some pieces.
They are working with the insurance company to find the pieces which each have a mold
number on them. they have tracked down the original architect's office hoping for drawings
of the building, and maybe a hint to the company that cast the pieces.
If that cannot be done, then they will use the original pieces to create new molds and then
put the front back on the building.

Tina has assured me once the inventory is done, and they figure out how to put the pieces
back up, the turned in pieces will be happily returned to those that borrowed them. So if
you have a souvenir of the building, bring it by and give it back or let her see if she needs it.
A chance to help rebuild a historically significant building in Lakewood, and get a real piece
of history. She did hint at maybe being able to trade up pieces as well!
One of the store fronts laid out in her garage. You can see the pieces are pretty beat up,
so any little piece could make a huge difference in getting it done and back up.
OH AND WHEN YOU ARE THERE HAVE BREAKFAST!
I did, it was fast, damn good and cheaper than the chains.
You can drop off the pieces 7am - 3pm daily, or just leave it at the door.
No questions asked, they just really want to rebuild the building correctly. If you know someone
with a chunk please pass this story along.
