"Mayor Summers Cancels Friday Night Flicks For Public Safety!"

That could be the next headline if Mayor Mike Summers declares anyone living around Lakewood Park to be a "credible concern for public safety near the park."

Until then, the City of Lakewood will continue its popular Friday Night Flicks series this summer, with a diverse line-up of family movies, starting June 13th.

Ironically, the event kicks off with "The Nut Job."

And, with even more irony, the event ends with “Despicable Me 2."

It appears that the "The Nut Job" at Lakewood Park is still a go!

No "credible concern for public safety near the park" has been declared yet.

So, stop by tonight and tell Mayor Mike Summers to give us back our basketball hoops at Kauffman Park.

While Mayor and Public Safety Director Michael P. Summers has "frozen" our residents and families out of the Kauffman Park Hoops, it appears that "Frozen" at Lakewood Park is still a go!
