Harding parents were notified this week that a seventh grader has gone home with a suspected case of the mumps.

The student in question had been vaccinated for mumps but as reports out of Central Ohio are making clear, the mumps vaccine is not 100 percent effective. The effectiveness of the measles portion of the MMR is a lot greater.

The outbreak in Central Ohio has been somewhat alarming, maybe a booster shot should be discussed. Meanwhile, Harding has been washed down, parents have been alerted, and more than ever, WASH your hands, etc. while Lakewood figures this out.
