Charter Review Coverage

I just got off the phone with Peter Grossetti about covering the Charter Review. It seems
that we are both willing to try to cover it. Every other week I am in production, so cannot
make all the meetings. It would be helpful if others would like to help.

While we will be "reporting" from the meetings, we will also be "observing" the meetings.
The difference is, we will not be worried about hiding our thoughts and emotions in the
observations. After all, as residents of this city, we have a stake in this outcome.

So Peter and I argued for about an hour over how to do this, and why do it, and we came
up[ with a plan, that seems to make each of us less upset. So I am posting it here for
any discussion or thought on the process.

Charter Review - The Reports, will be updates, and white papers of the Charter Review
Commission.

Charter Review - The Observations will be the discussion area for the Charter Review.
All comments and discussion not from Charter Review Members or reporters will be
moved to the discussion area, daily.

Any thoughts?

Jim,

I’m all for you and Peter covering the current city charter charade.

You want to change our system of government so you may as well change our posting system, too.

In any event, are you and your fellow “city manager huggers” going to moderate that new forum?

And is there any hope that you can put all the prior city manager threads into that forum so we can all have context?

Matt

Matt

I am not changing anything yet. Just asking for opinions. Then I'll change it...

All threads are saved. All threads have always been saved.

And yes, I would move all of these threads into one of those two threads.

We have been thinking of cleaning house for a long time now. Moving threads
on the same subject together, as threads tend to fracture and spread.

I guess we could say it is like SCHOOL The Reports, and out back by the fence at 3:30
for the Observations. That way we can all learn, and I can kick your butt at 3:30

So are you in? Or as you Urban Legal Eagles say, "down with that idea?"
