But not the Plain Dealer. When is a crime spree news?

Bill

That is an outrageous story, and I have not seen it anywhere.

However as it has been for some time, the Plain Dealer/Cleveland.com is desperately fighting
to stay afloat. Will they go against their biggest advertisers?

Or do they just look the other way, let someone else "disappoint" The Cleveland Foundation,
Cleve+, etc.

Wild ass story, caused in no small part by the entire world of media covering the "game"
knock out, that is "sweeping the country..."

.

The Plain Dealer does some good reporting but they put a cone of silence around any news that challenges the narrative that everything is going just fine.

Our company does a little work under the home weatherization program in Cuyahoga County. We also do a lot of commercial work around Northeast Ohio. I get a birds eye view of the real economic condition of the region and: its not good.

The Plain Dealer does a disservice when it under reports the bad news about current economic conditions and the poor performance of our regional institutions like

Tri-C
CSU
Cleveland Clinic
RTA
Hopkins Airport

and others.

I think I know why they do it. If people knew the truth they might demand some accountability and might start saying no to tax increases to fund more of the same.

Bill, do you think that C-Town is on a path like Detroit?

CBS appears to have covered it. http://cleveland.cbslocal.com/2014/02/1 ... abled-vet/.

I quit reading the PD quite a few years ago when they were already in decline. They aren't alone. Some good papers have gone out of the print business for an electronic version, and some don't appear to employ reporters and editors, they just print blogs.

Yes.

Not one of the our called public "investments" adds people or jobs to Cuyahoga County.

Michigan and Detroit have one advantage that Cleveland and Ohio do not have. Michigan retained most of its industrial know how. We have lost it. Not only that, Cuyahoga County
has spent BILLIONS of dollars on projects that simply move economic activity from one side of town to the other.

The billion dollar convention center can't even generate enough money to pay its own debt.

I go particularly annoyed on Friday. I spent the day with inspectors at various job sites across Cleveland. The decay, desolation and desperation where readily apparent. Well, at least we have a new chandelier on Euclid Avenue:

these Cleveland teens are on PCP

Peter Moskos can help these teenagers.

I've waited for the bus at Public Square after work hundreds of times:
that is why I vote 'NO' on cleveland school levies.

Not quite so sensational as our faux "news media" made it out to be.

Surprised? Not me.
