Schools' Financial Advisory Comm meeting-- Thur 2/13--6:30

This is a Meeting Notice of the Financial Advisory Committee of the Lakewood City Schools:
A meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at the Lakewood Board of Education Building, 1st floor auditorium, 1470 Warren Road, Lakewood, Ohio 44107, for the purpose of review and discussion of agenda items and any other business that may come before the Financial Advisory Committee. The agenda for the meeting is attached.

If you are interested in being in on, and understanding how our schools are spending our money THIS is the meeting to attend. The agenda below is very broad but it has some heavy hitting items, namely:Review/Discussion of Fiscal Year 2013 Audit.
This is a new citizen committee and if you are interested in who gets to be on it, what they're supposed to be responsible for, etc. the review of the bylaws and code of conduct will be interesting to you-- along with who is there now, and what you think of them. They are citizens like you.
I know many people who would be great on this committee. (Yes I'm talking to you Lakewood parents who have a head for budgets and numbers. You know who you are.)
This meeting should be way more informative than a typical School Board meeting, especially if they don't go into an Executive Session. (Not sure their bylaws allow that.)
Lakewood's future depends on the future of our schools-- if you have been thinking of becoming more involved, Thursday night is your night.
