Elementary school transition sites announced

From tonight's Board of Ed meeting which is still in progress: the transition sites are in and have been approved.

Grant Elementary will go to St. James on Detroit. Lincoln Elementary will go to St. Luke's on Clifton. Roosevelt Elementary will go to the old Franklin Elementary school on Franklin. Lakewood City Academy will go to Taft, on Clifton. The ABLE program will remain at Taft.

The revised school calendar for the 2013/2014 school year was announced. School will be starting a week later than this year, on August 27th, to allow a more time to organize the transition.

Lakewood Council for PTA's presented their resolution for increased parental involvement, which was well received.
