All
This is a such a festive time of year for so many of us. With great family times, good food, parties, and great times for all. Right?
Well unfortunately, no.
With the increase in all of these events and fun times comes stress for a lot of people, from Mom and Dad making sure everything is right, to those without families who feel the stress of loneliness and hard times, which seems to grow and manifest itself in the minds of oh so many.
Last night the city there was a series of unfortunate calls to the police and fire departments, and I could not help but reflect on how this time of year is especially tough on our safety crews and urgent care providers.
This holiday season, have fun, enjoy life, but let's not forget those who are not having fun, who are sitting in the house alone, cold and forgotten. Invite them over for dinner, or a cup of hot chocolate. Stop by their houses and drop off a plate of food-- some pumpkin pie-- or just stop and say hi and let them know you are thinking of them.
Let's all have a great holiday season, but remember those less fortunate.
Give thanks for all we have, and work to give others something to be thankful about.
I love this city, and our safety services.
peace/love
