Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

The first really cold day has hit Lakewood, 32 degrees for the high, and our first real snowfall. This is when many cities North of the Mason Dixon line go into hibernation, and certainly in Lakewood there is some of this. But in this hearty walkable city it is also when we bundle up and spend hours and hours with friends sitting around a fire drinking coffee, or cocktails talking about the past year, and what can happen in the spring.

A time to walk, ski, sled in the Emerald Canyon, enjoying the crisp morning air, the warmth of the afternoon sun, while enjoying a great park in a great city.

Soon enough the lake will be frozen over and the Nor'Easters will blow and howl, and while it may appear to the novice Observer that nothing is going on, the city, the residents and the businesses will continue, at the same pace as before the first snowflake fell.

In Lakewood, you have to be tough! Well for 3-4 months at least.

And with that, the fall winter holiday season arrives.
