A Good Night for Lakewood

Today's election was pretty quiet, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Ten years ago tonight we had the highly contentious "Issue 47" election, which really brought out the worst in a lot of people.
Today we saw the town come together to overwhelmingly approve the school bond, which will finally bring closure to years of waiting for state money.
The fact that the community approved two school ballots in one calendar year is a fine testament to our residents, especially during these difficult economic times.
Noone is thrilled to pay more taxes, but voters recognized legitimate needs.
I'm very much looking forward to not seeing trailers on the LHS north lot.
