This is from Karen Lee, the chair of the Supplies for Success committee.
Well, school is almost here and we are in our last weeks of our school supply drive. Please help us get the word out by forwarding this information to your family, friends, neighbors, groups etc.
For the past 2 years, we have been collecting school supplies for students in financial need –focusing on the middle and high school grades. This year we joined with H20 and the Lakewood Community Service Center (LCSC) along with Trinity Lakewood Community Outreach to serve grades K-12. It is our community that makes this drive a huge success. Even one notebook makes a difference!
Below are detailed the some of the ways you can help make a difference: shopping/donating, sorting, or unpacking.
Shop for supplies and drop them off at one of the following locations:

We need a volunteer or two to assist our Parent Resource Coordinators in getting the supplies ready for families to pick up. Please email me which elementary school you would be interested in helping.
If you or a family you know needs supplies – here is how you get them:
Elementary Students:
Can pick up their supplies on Tuesday, August 20th from 1:00pm-3:30pm at their elementary school building or contact their Parent Resource Coordinator after the start of the school year.
Middle/LHS Students:
Can get supplies from their school Guidance Counselors on the first day of school, Thursday, August 22nd, and throughout the school year.
Thank you for your support of Lakewood Students,
Karen M Lee, chair Supplies 4 Success
Supplies 4 Success is a committee of the Lakewood Family Collaborative and is a 501(c)3, in conjunction with LCSC, H20, TLCO and LCSD.
So when you hit the really good sales... (Notebooks are a penny a piece at Staples if you spend five dollars on other things..) pick up some extra. A hundred notebooks for a dollar!
It's easy to help.
