The leak above came from a friend with the state.

This is more official.

Commission Approves State Funding for
Lakewood City Schools’ Construction Project
July 11, 2013 –
The Lakewood City School District has been advised that the Ohio School Facilities Commission (OSFC) approved over $50.4 million in state funding for school construction work in the District. Lakewood is one of 19 from across the Buckeye state that received an offer of funding from the Commission, which oversees the state’s school facility renovation and construction program.

The funding, combined with a final bond issue and small permanent improvement levy, will allow Lakewood to move forward with the construction of three new elementary schools and the renovation of the east end of Lakewood High School.

Board of Education President, Edward Favre, stated, “We will now move forward with our project. The community has been eagerly awaiting its completion.”

School districts must raise their local share of the project budget within 13 months before the state funding can be released. Districts that fail to acquire their funding in that period are considered “lapsed,” but can still participate in OSFC programs once they obtain local funding.
