Happy Sunday! Made it through the Fourth of July, with a weekend to spare!

This wet summer is great for the flowers and plants, I can't believe how beautiful the hydrangeas around here are, and how many varieties there are.

This one is my neighbor's down the street-- it doesn't grow in the typical round balls of blooms-- not sure what it's called but it's gorgeous.

This one's my butterfly hydrangea, getting ready. When the blossoms open they will be singular and fly around on the end of their stems like butterflies. My favorite plant.

Here is a cake made just hours ago for President Obama's birthday party which is being held in our backyard this afternoon apparently. (His birthday was in June, but this was the first day everybody could make it.)

I think they are called "lace cap" Hydrangea's....I have a bunch too...do you know if a branch falls on the ground it roots...you can cut it off from the main plant...replant and have a new bush!! That is why I have so many!
