Take the Wheel For Friends Of The Lakewood Dog Park

by Karen Karp

Ganley Ford West and Friends of the Lakewood Dog Park, Inc. are partnering to raise up to $6,000 for Lakewood Dog Park as part of Ford Motor Company's Drive 4 UR Community program. On one day only, Saturday, May 11, 2013, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for every person who takes the wheel and completes a test-drive, Ford will donate $20 to FLDP.
Lakewood residents and neighbors from our surrounding communities are needed to help Ganley Ford West and dog park members reach their goal of 300 test drives.

Following their test-drive, participants may want to linger at the dog park to visit with volunteers from local animal-related non-profits, speak to some of FLDP's other wonderful sponsors, or enjoy the new benches, several of which are still available for sponsorships. In addition, May 11, 2013 will be the first opportunity to purchase the brand-new 2013 Lakewood Dog Park Tenth Anniversary T-shirts and hoodies.

Friends of the Lakewood Dog Park, Inc. works with the city to care for the dog park, raises funds for park improvements and educates the public about dogs, the dog park and park etiquette. FLDP is an all-volunteer, non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization.

To participate in this exciting event and get behind the wheel of a new Ford vehicle, please visit the Lakewood Dog Park between 9 am and 3 pm on Saturday, May 11, 2013. The park is located at 1699 Valley Parkway, Lakewood, OH, adjacent to the Metropark's Rocky River Reservation. Ample parking will be available across the street from the park in the Marina Parking Lot.

Please keep in mind that each test-drive will last approximately 7-10 minutes. Participants must be 18 or older and have a valid driver’s license. There is a limit of one test drive per household.

Karen Karp is the current president of Friends of the Lakewood Dog Park, Inc. She and her dog, Dudley, are frequent visitors to the park.
