Seems that it was part of the plan when the owner of Peet's purchased Caribou last year.

I've only been to Caribou a few times. I much prefer a cup of Root's coffee. From what I gathered in David's link, Peet's is supposed to be an upscale Starbucks.

I look forward to a better cup of coffee, either way.

I have a certain fondness for Caribou Coffee since that is where I met my spouse.

Having said that, the manner in which Caribou Coffee treated its employees in this “closing” is the antithesis of the “corporate social responsibility” it espouses.

how much is that coffee going to cost?!?!?

Are they going to renovate? maybe they could change out the landscaping, I'm getting kind of tired of seeing their current choice of ground cover... a six inch layer of cigarette butts.

Fortunately, City Hall has a new "app" to report folks who let landscaping go wild. See http://www.lakewoodobserver.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=11776.

Unfortunately, City Hall probably doesn't have a detailed enough ordinance to deal with this issue so a "cigarette butt committee" will be established to study the matter in the very near future.
