If you are willing to support the levy and speak on its behalf when you are out and about town, please send me a message with your email address so that I can forward that information to the levy co-chairs, Mayor Michael P. Summers and Christina Gill McCallum.

The Levy Committee is not talking about a presentation style format, but in everyday conversations. People whose names are submitted will be invited to attend training, which is why we need your email address.

Here is some arithmetic:

Our last school treasurer will be collecting the following pension while still in his 50's:

0.03
Year Annual Pension COLA Total Pension
1 $125,000.00 $3,750.00 $128,750.00
2 $128,750.00 $3,862.50 $132,612.50
19 $212,804.13 $6,384.12 $219,188.26
20 $219,188.26 $6,575.65 $225,763.90
21 $225,763.90 $6,772.92 $232,536.82
22 $232,536.82 $6,976.10 $239,512.93
23 $239,512.93 $7,185.39 $246,698.31

$4,178,308.78 total pension after 23 years.

Is it really the job of the people of Lakewood to make our public employee's pension millionaires?
