I understand all of the disclaimers at the bottom of City Hall’s emails with the exception of the bold emphasis below.

Really?

You cannot copy or distribute emails from City Hall?

Peter,

I imagine that there will be a statement from City Hall very soon that sounds something like:

The copying and disseminating of email information from City Hall to the public is strictly prohibited. The fact that such information is being copied and disseminated causes us great worry. Unfortunately, there appears to be no law on the books to enforce our prohibition against copying and disseminating public information. As a result, the Administration will be forming a task force/committee to study this issue and submit enforceable ordinances to City Council for approval.

This just shows that you are not as good or as smart as you think. It clearly says that IF YOU ARE NOT THE INTENDED RECIPIENT......for a lawyer that is pretty weak!

Richard

I am not familiar with your legal background, but I was wondering if a letter with this on it,
could be used by others for 1) to underline their position, 2) to defeat the reasoning or
comment of the letter against the sender, 3) used by others to attack the poster, 4) used in
a court of law, 5) is just a typical disclaimer based little in fact or law.

Is this disclaimer like "With all due respect..." from Ricky Bobby.

Just curious, you got any idea?
