Congratulations Kent Adams from Harding--tied for 1st place for 8th grade and Garfield's Lizzie Shuga who brought home the 1st place trophy for 7th grade.

and Caleigh Sheehan with a 4th place trophy.


And in 8th grade-- Harding

And just announced-- the Harding 8th grade team took the 2nd place overall trophy.

What a great day for Lakewood Middle Schoolers, our Middle School teachers, and Lakewood Schools.

There were 26 schools competing, with over 300 students.

Hi all,

Now that we've all settled down after Power of the Pen-- Lakewood shocked people by how well they did, by the way--we always have some contenders but this time we had the best of 300 students, 26 schools, in 2 categories. BEST in the area in 7th and BEST in 8th. The army of judges agreed.

Wow, the first sentence above is not really a sentence at all, speaking of Power of the Pen.

I'll try it again: Now that we've all settled down, I realize that I mislabeled some of these pictures a little.

Caleigh (a seasoned Lakewood Observer writer by the way) was the fourth place trophy winner for 8th grade from Harding, not 7th.
